Promise -Chapter 13-

"Old Acquaintances"

'Hmph, he's always like that. Never thinking of other people's feeling. Why did I even think that I could like him' Levy thought as she was walking back to her class.

Gajeel scratched the back of his head wondering what he did wrong when he watched Levy stomp away. He decided to leave it alone for now and followed Levy to class.

    "Hey Levy" Lucy whispered to get the the attention of Levy who was sitting in front of her. "Yeah?" Levy whispered back, trying to not get caught by their English teacher. "Did something happen? Gajeel's been looking your way since he arrived" Lucy said. "Nothing happened okay" Levy replied, her tone a bit harsher than usual. Lucy took note of her tone and avoid bringing Gajeel as a topic again. Although she did wonder, 'I wonder what happened.' 

Levy turned her gaze and, for so short a time, stared at those blood red eyes which stared back at her hazel orbs. As soon as she realized that she was staring, she immediately averted her gaze.

    "I'm going on ahead Lu-chan" Levy said as she gathered her things and left the room. "What happened to her?" Natsu asked Lucy as he came over.  "I guess you could say that something happened between her and Gajeel." Lucy replied, before adding, "By the way Natsu, I'm going to a bookstore before going home. Do you want to come along" "Sure, if it's no problem to you." Natsu replied with a grin. "Of course it's not a problem. ^_^"

    "Hey, I'm going to look here at the fiction section" Lucy announced as Natsu and Happy run off to the delicacies section. 'They're always so energetic. I wonder where do they get all those hyper'ness'?' Lucy thought as she started reading through the books, looking at their spine for the title. 

-BOOOGSH....-

"Ah, I'm sorry about that" A girl with short, silvery white hair, who was standing on a step stool, apologizes as she noticed me looking at her direction. "Don't worry about it" Lucy says as she approaches the girl and helps her pick up all the books that fell. "Thank you for helping me" She thanks me as she adjusts the glasses she is wearing. "It's no biggie. I'm Lucy by the way" Lucy introduced herself as she extended her arms and offered her hand for a handshake. The girl took her hand and said, "I'm Yukino. Yukino Agria" "Well then, it's nice to meet you Yukino-chan" Lucy gave her a big, warm smile.

"Ah, LUCY-CHAN!" Lucy looked behind Yukino and there was Sting, waving his hands up like an idiot. "Hi Sting-kun" Lucy replied and noticed Yukino freeze for a second before actually turning back and facing the guy Lucy was talking to. Then, Sting froze.

"Hi, it's nice to meet you. I'm Lucy's acquaintance. I just met her here. Are you her boyfriend?" Yukino introduced herself and asked that with a smile on her face. This question made Sting and Lucy blush profusely. "No! We're not. We're just friends" Lucy replied before Sting could say anything. "More importantly, do you know each other?" Lucy asked both of them. Neither of them responds which only proves Lucy correct, so she probes them more. "How do you know each other?" She asks. "I just usually see her in the library or canteen before when I was still studying at Sabertooth. I don't really know 'know' her like that." Sting replied. "Then how do you know him?" Lucy asks Yukino as she points at Sting. Yukino started blushing and stuttering, "I...I...he is...part of the top 4 popular...male in the school so...that is why I know him." Lucy stared at Yukino intently and asked, "Are you sure that's all?" Lucy even raised her brow at the end of the question. Yukino nods reluctantly. "Well, I guess that's just how you know each other" Lucy finally said after heaving a large sigh. "So anyway, this is Yukino. and Yukino, this is Sting" Lucy introduced them to each other. "Yo! It's nice to meet you" Sting smiled and offered his hand to Yukino, while Yukino took his hand and replied, "It's nice to meet you too."

"Hey Lucy, I saw some..." Natsu trailed off as he saw me with Sting and Yukino. "Whoa, what brought you here Sting?" Natsu asked. "Oh, nothing, just decided to kill some time." was the reply of Sting. "Who's this girl with you then?" Natsu asked yet again. "Uhh, her? I just met her here. She used to be my schoolmate" Sting said. "She's Yukino" Lucy added.

"Wait, I think I have seen you somewhere before..." Natsu said as he started to think for a little bit. "Oh, never mind. Anyway, I'm Natsu." Natsu introduced himself and grinned. 

"Bye guys, we need to go. See you some other time" Lucy said as she pulled Natsu and Happy with her out of the store, while YUkino and Sting were left there.

"So, uh...you wanna go and eat somewhere before going home?" Sting asked Yukino.
